How important is oxygen to your health?

From a biochemical perspective, oxygen is important to both the quality and length of your life. Despite this, we don’t do much to maximize the oxygen we bring in to our bodies.

When we sit in a slouched or hunched forward position, it limits the amount of room we have to breathe. This slight reduction over time decreases energy. When people change the way they sit to help fix their posture, they seem to have more energy at the end of the day.

Speaking of the end of the day, have you had a sleep study?

The number of people who do not breathe properly or enough while sleeping is quite high. Not breathing properly when sleeping can create lots of issues, such as seizures, migraines, brain fog, chronic fatigue, arterial plaque, heart attacks, heart damage, cognitive decline, dementia and more.

People tell me they don’t want to wear a CPAP mask and while I understand it is an inconvenience remember it is less of an issue than the alternatives. I use a CPAP every night to avoid issues and improve my wellness. There is another way to help bring in oxygen, and that is cardio. If you can get out and exercise, it will help your overall intake of oxygen.

However you work on your oxygen, make sure to talk with your doctor and get your oxygen levels checked.
