    Crush the day

In today’s world, much of how we think life should be comes from social media. People talk about how they “crush the day” or get up at 4 am to make it all work.

What is not always talked about is how we can do that. For instance, I have an entire team that helps me. In addition, my wife, who has a full time career, also does an amazing job balancing her life with the kids’ schedule. My office manager Rachael keeps everything at my office functioning. My associate and partner, Dr. Bethany, helps with PTs and other managerial tasks. My house manager ensures that if something needs to be done or the kids need something, it is taken care of.

If you do not have help and are a stay-at-home mom with a thousand things to do, or you are starting your own business and it seems like there isn’t enough time to get all the work done, remember that not everyone on social media talks about the entirety of their lives. They might feel that the nap they take in the middle of the day isn’t worth talking about. Perhaps they omit that they go to bed at 9 pm every night. Maybe while they are “doing things like a boss,” they are also exhausted. If you find yourself tired from life, work and family, that is normal.

It is important to understand everyone gets tired. Everyone needs to rest, unplug and manage their stress. If you are working hard and find yourself tired, listen to your body. Rest, regenerate and allow yourself to heal. I would highly recommend if you find yourself tired often, you evaluate your health, nutrition and work and sleep schedule. Pushing through things is admirable, to a point, but then it becomes foolish and detrimental. I am in no way saying you shouldn’t work hard, even very hard. However, we should listen to our bodies and rest when we need rest.
